Understanding we are not alone when it comes to being jobless, this is still tough news to read. As industry and job losses are quantified this may go to demonstrate that a paradigm shift in business as a whole. My own feeling is that our economy will have to revert to how America did business in the 50’s; before the era of conglomerates, mass deregulation and chain stores that removed the ability of many to make more dollars and instead become employees on minimum wage. Enabling people to own businesses will bring more money into the community by providing local jobs. Local jobs have many benefits: eliminating hours long round-trip commutes burning fuel – saving the environment, dependency on fuel, reducing the demand for fuel enabling car companies to develop fuel alternative engines; profits; stress reduction; and more time to raise a family. Would this really be possible?
